JOSHUA NICHOLAS SULLIVAN (b. 1985) studied fine arts at the Rhode Island School of Design earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2007. Building on spiritual experiences as a painter, musician and conceptual artist working in NYC, in 2013 he began discerning a call to ordained ministry in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. In 2016 he received his Master of Divinity degree from the Yale School of Divinity and the Yale Institute of Sacred Music. During his time at Yale, he learned how closely related are the worlds of social justice, the arts, church mission, and community organizing. He looks forward to building and advocating for communities that foster faithful, creative, and just citizens. In August 2016 he began serving as vicar for Ballard First Lutheran Church in Seattle, WA and as organizer for the Faith Action Network of Washington. Sullivan is also known for his music and performance works under the name PERFVGIVM, and the cassette record label he curates called Rustle VV Records.
